1. Environmental Conditions:
Sunlight: Keep your insect specimens away from direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade the colours and damage the materials.
Heat: Avoid areas with high temperatures, as heat can accelerate deterioration.
Humidity: Store your taxidermied insects in a dry environment, away from bathrooms or areas with high humidity, which can cause mold and mildew growth.
2. Pest Control:
Book Lice:
If you suspect book lice, isolate the affected display and place it in the freezer for two weeks to kill any pests and eggs.
Quarantine:
If you're acquiring new specimens, ensure they are quarantined to prevent potential infestations.
3. Display:
Display Boxes or Domes:
Use display boxes or domes to protect your specimens from dust and accidental bumps.
Handling:
Handle the display with care, especially if the dome top is removable, as it can be fragile.
4. Cleaning:
Dusting: Dust the display regularly with a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth.
Glass Cleaning: If necessary, remove the glass top (if it's not glued) and wash it with warm, soapy water, then dry thoroughly before reassembling.

Place your taxidermied insects in areas where they won't be bumped or touched by children or pets.
